Our people and culture are important to us and central to everything we do. We continually strive to create and maintain a friendly and supportive environment for our staff. You will quickly get to know everyone from the Senior Partner to the most junior staff. Fox Williams is committed to creating a more diverse workforce which better reflects the demographics of society and the broad range of clients for whom we work. We collaborate with our recruitment agents to seek a broad talent pool for all of our roles. We are passionate about working in an inclusive environment and successful candidates will be required to uphold this.

The department

The Communications Manager is a member of the BD & Marketing department. The role is available as the current Communications Manager is taking a period of parental leave. The team currently consists of the BD & Sales Director; the Head of BD & Marketing; the Senior Marketing & Communications Manager; one Partnerships & BD Manager; one Senior BD & Marketing Executive; one Events & Marketing Executive and a Marketing Administrator.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, the BD & Marketing team is responsible for supporting the firm’s growth against firm strategy. They build and underpin the profile of the firm in our chosen markets; enhance our relationships with clients and build new relationships with targets, leading to the development of profitable business opportunities.

The team is moving towards being more campaign focused so a high percentage of the activity carried out by members of the BD & Marketing team has a communications element. This includes developing and maximising content in the form of articles for the firm’s website; newsletters; social media postings; event invitations; directory entries; deal notices and news releases; tailored information about the firm for prospective targets, as well as more formal pitch documents.

The team has been through a period of change and is evolving it’s service provision. This is a great opportunity for someone who will own this area, take responsibility for projects and develop best practice.

The opportunity

The communications manager works with partners and lawyers to develop content that is informative and on-point; and with marketing and BD colleagues to ensure the firm’s messaging and language is consistent.

Over the last year more than 116 articles and news updates were published on the firm’s website. Most of these articles were distributed to targeted clients and contacts, via newsletters ranging from HRLaw and agentlaw. According to Lexology statistics, the firm competes effectively in average reads of articles against all UK law firms, and holds its own against UK top 50 firms by revenue.
