The department

The 8-strong HR team supports the firm to deliver great client service, keeping true to our values, and retaining our unique culture, to ensure Fox Williams continues to be an enjoyable, engaging place to work for all.

The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 2 years recruitment experience, In-House or agency. It may also be an opportunity for someone in a Graduate Recruitment team looking to move into mainstream recruitment.  We are looking for a proactive, innovative Talent Officer to join our HR team.

 

The opportunity

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their recruitment skills, bring new ideas and approaches to the firm and become an integral member of our Generalist HR team. We are looking for someone who thrives on multi-tasking and a hands-on approach, who can confidently juggle competing demands on their time. As a member of a small (front-line) HR team and an external ambassador of the firm, successful candidates must have clear, confident and professional communication skills with all stakeholders and be able to demonstrate their ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.

Responsibilities

The role itself is responsible for the attraction and selection of the best talent to the firm, which includes (but is not limited to):

Responsible for the recruitment of all Lawyers and Business Services team members

  • Deliver an end-to end service for recruitment across the firm, from role creation to Offer (including filtering CVs, scheduling interviews, planning selection tests, carrying out first round interviews where appropriate)
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders (often Heads of Departments) to ensure we are searching for the right skills and experience for each role.
  • Build good relationships with key recruiters, communicating with them regularly and giving feedback after interviews; ensure terms are agreed and reviewed on an annual basis with a core PSL for fee earning and support roles.
  • Innovate with new, proactive approaches to attract a diverse talent pool (particularly for lawyers), building relationships with upReach and BSN and other relevant partners.
  • Manage the recruitment process via AllHires, keeping good records and using the system to drive information and reports to show recruiters activity to enable managing the relationships at optimum level and keeping PSLs up to date.
  • Manage our LinkedIn jobs profiles and any other external networks / platforms which promote FW to a broad range of candidates. Using LinkedIn to drive suitable direct candidates through to AllHires.
  • Undertake market mapping where appropriate, particularly for difficult to fill roles.
  • Responsible for recruitment expenditure and process invoices in timely manner to keep to the T&Cs with agents.
  • Work with HRD on annual salary benchmarking for all roles across the firm.
  • Create bi-annual recruitment reports and statistics, outlining activity, success stories and areas of improvement.
  • Work closely with Marketing to create content for our website and social media platforms.

 

Trainee and Apprenticeship Recruitment

Attraction of Talent:

  • Proactive approach to sourcing excellent candidates from a broad talent pool
  • Research industry best practice and innovate to raise FW profile with potential Trainees.
  • Manage The Legal 500, Chambers & LawCareers submissions and our appearance at virtual law fairs.

Trainee selection:

  • Leads on and takes responsibility for our FW graduate recruitment process, vacation schemes and Insight Days.
  • Manage AllHires Graduates system to accurately track trainees and solicitor apprentices and communicate with potential graduates that make enquiries through our website or Application mailbox.
